2 NATO service members die in Afghanistan blast

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Two service members with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force were killed in a blast in eastern Afghanistan, the force said Monday.

The attack took place Sunday. The ISAF statement did not say where it occurred or offer additional details.

Per policy, ISAF also leaves it up to member nations to announce the nationalities of service members who are killed.

With Monday's deaths, the number of service members who died in attacks this month in Afghanistan has risen to at least 25

On Thursday, the Taliban claimed responsibility Friday for downing a Black Hawk helicopter in southern Afghanistan.

The helicopter's four crew members, all of them American, are believed to be dead, a U.S. military official said.
