Heat Watch: Possibly even warmer today, more records likely to fall

Given yesterday’s extraordinary temperatures, I’m going to summarize what happened, and what’s likely to happen. MONDAY Monday’s temperatures were ridiculous, with Galveston topping the list. For the first time ever, in June, Galveston recorded a 100-degree day (That’s 140 years of records, folks.) Houston got its first 100-degree day of 2012, tying its record high with 102 degrees at Bush IAH Houston-Hobby broke its record for minimum temperature, bottoming out at only 81 degrees Why was Galveston so warm?
